82-85 Caramel and reductive aromas spoilt this sample. There is fruit, but it is very dry and dense, leaving little room for freshness or acidity.

87-89 Barrel sample. The fruit is too ripe here, leaving a wine that feels flabby, rather too soft even with the bitter tannin edge.

89-91 Ripe, soft wine, fruity, fresh and jammy. The fruit is rich, the tannins integrated into the fruit. Already attractive.

86-88 Barrel sample. Despite its initial edge of bitterness, this develops as a dense wine, packed with dark high toast and blackberry jelly flavors. The final bite of high extract spoils the finish.

86-88 Barrel sample. This wine is delicate, with dusty tannins and easy fruit flavors. It seems pretty closed up, as it hasn't much depth at the moment.
