This is a powerful statement of ripe Cabernet Sauvignon. It has rich concentrated fruit, with ripe but dry tannins and considerable wood flavors. It is stylish, with layers of acidity and wood complementing the fruit.

Beautifully ripe Cabernet dominates this dense, complex wine. It is balanced so finely, as if on the point of a pin, with black currant juice freshness set against dark tannins and powerful structure. A wine to age, and one of the successes of 2006.

90-92 Tar and liquorice aromas make this an immediately enticing wine. It is rich, dense, with power supported by rich fruit. There is just a risk that high alcohol will spoil the balance.

A dark charactered wine, with solid tannins and firm, extracted fruit flavors. The berry fruits are juicy and sweet, with the dusty tannins coming from the Cabernet in the blend. The finish is softer, more black jelly in texture.

Powerful, rich, firm and solid. The tannins are rounded and there is a noticeable amount of wood here, although the wine has preserved its fresh fruit at the same time. Very linear, the finish showing ripe plums and sweet fruit.

94-96 Barrel sample. Firm, ripe and sweet an opulent wine, that is balanced with acidity that pierces right through. The texture is dense, dusty tannins balancing with hints of wood. Almost a meal in itself, this is a fruity, but definitely chewy wine.

A great, classic Pauillac, with its dark, dense, almost black currant flavors stirred together with immense tannins. The layers of dryness, fresh fruits, acidity and ripeness are all coming together into a magnificent structure. Age for at least 20 years.

92-94 Barrel sample. Big black currant fruits, good balancing tannins, with herbs and a touch of mint. This wine has a whole panoply of flavors that are already blending together well. The acidity sets the seal .
