Light nose, but loaded with sweet fruit, good balance if light and somewhat simple, some earth elements present; light and two-dimensional in the front of the mouth, but developing better balance as the wine sits in the glass, clean and fresh, but clumsy, lacking finesse; there is flavor here and a good dollop of fruit, but the wine is too light and flat for my taste, even from these outlying regions of the Bordeaux; an interesting look at the vintage, though, through these “lesser” appellations; again, need to keep in mind that this wine is less than $20 retail.
