A taut, tight wine, packed with wood and rich fruit flavors but still developing. When it matures in a year, this top wine from Rauzan Despagne will have enormous, intense fruit. This is a great white wine, one that shows how good white from the Entre-deux-Mers can be.

A crisp, fresh wine, ready to drink now, with no wood aging, but with great ripe white-fruit flavors, and mouth-watering acidity. A great apéritif wine for the summer.

This shows considerable wood flavors, giving a smooth, creamy character, spiced with some toast and ripe, dense Sémillon. It’s big, a definite food wine, showing great style and quality above its simple Bordeaux appellation station.

Light, fruity, elegant, a delicious wine that combines very fresh fruits with some softness, restraint almost. It shows green pea, kiwi and a tight, mineral streak of acidity. On top are crisp citrus and white currant flavors. Drink this summer or next.

Emphasizing the herbaceous side of white Bordeaux, despite its weight, this wine plays a fine line between richness and freshness. The power is there, almost too much initially with some alcohol burn. But then the crisp, green and white fruits come in, giving a poised, vibrant lift.
