* Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
From the Cathiards private cellar, this wine has a nicely sweet and focused nose, very typical of the vintage at this stage of its evolvement, black cherries, earth, and slightly smoky with a touch of lemon acidity; sweet and rich in the mouth, very typical for a ’61; good density and a nice balance of acidity that freshens the wine; long, sweet finish; the wine is a bit simple and short, but quite good from an era when this property was not known for making great wines.
