Great deal of bottle variation here, the better bottle has a wonderful and exciting nose of sweet candied fruit, flourishes of honey and slightly singed fruit, layered and deep, floral and perfumed; silky and elegant in the mouth, sweet fruit, ripe black cherries and plums, spicy and peppery in the mouth; long finish with wonderful expression. Very sweet nose, perfumed and elegant, aromas of hard candy, refined sugar, certainly smells chapitalized; sweet in the first taste, but then much more citric and lemony, there is a clear sense that this wine is drying out now, and hard to tell if it had a good base in its youth; the presence of added sugar, which I think is unmistakable here, probably is not a good sign about this wine even in its youth. Sweet and ripe nose, layers of rich fruit with a predominance of black plums and black cherries, earthen, hints of smoke, spices, slightly roasted aromas; deep and rich in the mouth with black cherry and plum flavors; an overabundance of tannins, though, robs the wine of its subtlety and pushes the fruit far to the background; the tannins also tend to control the finish, creating a shell around what one can taste to be some sweeter fruit and spices that are there, but harder to find the longer the wine is in the glass. Sweet and very aromatic nose, good barnyard scents, overripe fruit, earthy, rich, layered aromas, classic; sweet fruit in the front of the mouth; very much in the Rousseau style with a touch of overstated elements that often appear; very good balance though; good citrus core, red sour cherries; soft tannins, silky and integrated; long finish. Deep and rich nose of black cherries and earth with hints of herbs and smoke mixed in, aromatic and ripe; disappointing in the mouth; after an initial shot of fruit that evokes ripe black cherry compote, the wine turns dry and wooden with grating tannins that leave a harsh, dry texture in the mouth; plenty of citrus fruit but lacks balance and appeal. Sweet and intense nose, aromas of roasted coffee abound mixed with ripe black and red cherries, pepper and herbs, soapstone, floral scents that conjure up violets; sweet and rich, quite concentrated and with a spicy, earthen set of flavors set in a rich sweet broth; powerful acidity and tannins add a dry backbone to this wine; lemony and very focused at the finish; needs more time, but what promise.
