* Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
Although not from a favored vintage, this wine performed admirably, giving truth to the proposition that in Burgundy it is most important to focus on the producer in any year; sweet and ripe nose, lots of black cherry aromas mixed with earth and a hint of smoked meat, herbs and green spices, classic black pepper: ripe and rich with sweet black cherry flavors; perhaps not the most complex but fullish in the mouth with classic flavors; hints of flowers in the finish with nice balanced tannins and citrus flavors; satisfying.
