Aggressively toasty, with a slightly burnt edge to the aromas, which also include green apple, lime and fern fronds. Seems a bit sweet on the finish.

The bubbles here aren't very plentiful or vigorous, but this wine offers pleasant peach, orange and toast flavors, a soft mousse and a clean, fresh finish. A decent value in bubbly, just don't expect a lot of bubble.

A dessert style sparkling Muscat of startling intensity. It opens with sweet scents of lemon and tangerine, which lead into a big, juicy wine with a powerful burst of concentrated fruit. There are plenty of lively bubbles, and a big finish given an “edge” by defining citrus-rind flavors.

A classic Champagne blend of Chard and Pinot Noir gives this wine some good depth and ripe flavors. Has flavors of toast, spices and pears as well as some good tannin structure. The finish is dry, with just a hint of softness. Imported by Boisset America.

Forward and fruity, with a nice blend of light floral and apple aromas. This is a good, round, pleasant wine, clean and mouthfilling. For its price it offers well-balanced flavors and surprising length.

The nose has real elegance, a splendid mix of apple, grapefruit and white peach scents. In the mouth baked apple and rich toasty flavors prevail, creating a strong and quite complex middle. The only disappointment is in the finish, which fails to hang together. But this is still a heckuva bottle for eight bucks.

A disappointment compared with the other bubblies in this value line. Despite the reserve designation, the wine fails to offer the richness and complexity of its siblings. A beery front end runs into a hollow middle, and there is a hint of sugar at the finish line.

Made from Loire Valley fruit, this is a soft rosé—the word Dry indicates it is off-dry rather than Brut. It has sweetened strawberry juice and a jammy character, with little in the way of acidity.

Toasted English muffin greets the nose, while the palate embraces ripe, almost tropical white fruit flavors. There’s acidity but it’s low, making this seem more like a still wine with bubbles than a Mousseux.
