A firm, structured wine, tempered with some smoky wood flavors. The tannins are dry and dominant, leaving the black cherry fruit element behind. Give it 2–3 years.

85-87 A dark wine, the fruit tasting a little over-ripe. It does have structure and acidity, but feels soft and flabby.

You get dense, concentrated fruit with this packed wine. It has the right tannins balancing with wood and acidity, blackberry fruits, some red berries, freshness and a ripe finish. A good, structured Bordeaux.

Dense, dark wine, with good black plum, fig, coffee and sweet raisin flavors. The ripe tannins fit well into this fruit mélange, with definite richness from new wood. There is good, juicy power here, as the wine finishes well with both dry tannin and fresh acidity.

Lean and thin yet well balanced fruit over leather - nothing dominant. Went well with meatball, spaghetti and red sauce - nice dry touch. Better in 2009? Happy to wait & see.
