Fabulous nose, deeply scented blackberries, jammy but with the touch of iodine and saltiness that Pomerols have, spicy and peppery aromas, balanced fruit aromas that are quite complex; wonderful flavors, refined and elegant with the extra sweetness that comes with the Merlot; spicy and peppery, but subtle and deep with nuances of flavor in layers of changing textures and flavors; various flavors ebb and flow in the mouth with a perfect balance of red and black fruits, then different herbs and spices, exotic but not obtuse; tightly focused and I would guess at close to peak of maturity now.

Big nose that opens with the unmistakable presence of coal tar and smoke, but also with lots of deeply integrated sweet black fruits and the presence of “salt marsh” aromas that I always look for in the better Pomerols; this is a huge wine in the mouth with powerful and deep flavors; very ripe black fruits that bring forth blackberry jam and blueberry preserve flavors; chocolate and citrus fruit maintain the freshness of the wine; integrated, deep and complex in the mouth with a long finish.
