90-92 Barrel sample. This has all the flavors of an Asian kitchen, spices dominant and, underneath, some attractive lemon and honey botrytis. This should be a great aperitif style of wine.

88-90 Delicious fruit, with pear and apricot laced with acidity and spice. The wine feels relatively light, very fresh, already delicious.

The color is light on this wine, which is really only just beginning to show richness. The botrytis dominates, with a fat, oily texture needing many years of aging. There is a lovely ripe orange marmalade flavor on the finish.

Under the control of white wine wizard Denis Dubourdieu, this is one of the great wines of Barsac. It has intensity of sweetness, but just the right lightness, which gives it freshness as well as richness. This is a great wine in its early stages, and is certainly likely to age over many years.

92–94 A delicious, sweet wine, which has great fruit, layers of dryness from the botrytis and intense structure. The acidity is certainly there, but dominated by the richness of the fruit.
