What a rich and hedonistic nose with molten chocolate, cacao and jammy black fruits in a wash of perfumed and tending toward floral aromas; same in the mouth; perhaps as rich and hedonistic as this wine can get without being a spread for croissants; powerful black fruit flavors are ripe and jammy, but avoid becoming too fleshy; there is a solid acidic core backed up by solid tannins that have a dry, earthen character; all-in-all a well-nigh perfect example of this wine.

Deep, rich, and ripe nose, black pepper, earth, tar, and lots of the sauvage character that these wines exhibit from time-to-time, deep and very complex, and loaded with nuance; sweet and ripe in the mouth at the first taste, but quickly becoming dry and defined with powerful tannins; the flavors turn at this stage to a drier, more earthen presence, with elements of coal, tar, and black fruit components; dry, focused and extremely well-defined at the finish; a real powerful example of this wine.

Very sweet and ripe nose, powerfully perfumed and aromatic, chocolate and herb aromas, becoming quite thick on the nose with very sweet fruit aromas that border on cough syrup scents, plenty of black pepper; sweet and very ripe in the mouth, smooth rich fruit flavors; chocolate and dense black fruits; an underlying layer of dry tannins and earthen flavors; peppery and spicy; long smooth finish that is silken and smooth, but still powerful and packs quite a punch.

Big nose, loaded with ripe fruit with elements of smoke, earth, and a touch of black pepper, touch of sweet perfume but quickly subdued by a more sauvage set of aromas; big wine in the mouth; sweet and peppery with classic CNP elements of earth, stones, smoke, hint of smoked meat, and all surrounded by rich black fruits and infusions of red fruit dryness.

Sweet, powerful nose, very perfumed and aromatic with an extraordinary enticing quality to the nose, succulent, but also spicy, peppery, and reminiscent of hard fruit candy aromas; sweet and ripe in the mouth with big, aggressive flavors; spicy, peppery, and earthen, but at the same time sweet and ripe; big finish, this is a powerful wine.

Deep and rich fruit on the nose, chocolate, tar, herbs, black pepper, focused aromas but there is a hint of metal on the nose that is somewhat disconcerting; sweet and ripe in the mouth, layers of black fruits with a predominantly cherry definition; soft and rich in the mouth but at the same time there is an abundance of dry tannins that help to structure the wine; long, spicy finish.

Sweet and ripe nose, very opulent and rich with elements of chocolate, cacao, tobacco, leather and minerals, deeply scented; sweet, ripe and very focused in the mouth, dry red fruit flavors mix with black currants, persimmon, and quince; an underlying element of soft, sweet citrus makes the wine fresh and appealing, and reduces the sauvage nature of the first taste; spicy, fruit-laden finish.

Sweet and ripe aromas with tar and jammy fruit as the most pronounced elements, but deep and rich with tar and aromas of stones and earth; very ripe in the mouth, bordering on overripe fruit, but also powerful and rich; then turning much drier on the palate, bringing forth red fruits and earthen notes; more acidity toward the finish that further dries out the wine, but it remains quite focused and elegant.

Sweet and ripe nose with smoke and leather aromas evident at the start, giving way to more black fruits, earth, coal, and charred wood later, but also showing nice fresh red fruit aromas; spicy and hot in the mouth, at the same time very sweet and ripe with black cherry and plum flavors; not really a very big wine, but with lots of flavor.

Deep aromas of earth, leather, tobacco, cedar, and layers of black fruits, smoky aromas mix with sweet herbs and earth notes; smooth and sweet in the mouth, lots of fresh fruit, black plums, cherries, raspberries; hints of earth and spices; very fresh and clean; lighter than some of the CNP’s, I found this to be very refreshing and well made, with perhaps less depth and power, so probably not a long-lived wine, but certainly very good right now; well balanced hiding the 14.5% alcohol very well.
