Intensely aromatic, sweet and rich with caramel, chocolate, green pepper and green olive, mixing with ripe, aromatic black fruits that have a strong cassis character, exotic nose; smooth and silky in the mouth, ripe fruit, rich but with good offsetting acidity to maintain freshness; there is an underlying earthiness to this wine that manifests itself in flavors of coal and minerals; concentrated and intense; long finish with injections of sweet citrus and sweet spices; this is at its peak now and a treat. (19/20) Tasted again with the Dinner Committee of the Commanderie at the Modern with consistent notes; this is a great wine and one of the stars of the second tier.

Pretty much always a good wine and often a contender for the best wine of the vintage; opens with a deep and sweet nose, lots of concentrated fruit, black cherry, blackberry aromas, earth, pepper; smooth and rich in the mouth with full black fruit flavors; soft tannins; at the end, the wine begins to exhibit some weakness, showing a separation of the tannins and the acidity; still not problematic though, but suggests that it is time to drink this wine.
