Always one of the best of this property under the leadership of Jean-Michel, sweet and very ripe fruit, tobacco, green herbs, green olives, dark chocolate, and black pepper, wrapped in a light mist of smoke; sweet and ripe fruit flavors; layers of black fruit, cassis, and chocolate; smooth and ripe with an earthen underpinning; in the mid-mouth, the wine becomes more citric and defined by red fruits; cranberry and pomegranate; but it retains its sweetness and ripe character to the finish; as good as the wine from this property gets in the modern era.

One of the best wines made at this property in recent times; deep and rich nose, very ripe aromas, lots of cassis and blackberries, sweetly perfumed and exotic with aromas of sandalwood interspersed with chocolate and mocha; sweet and ripe in the mouth; this is a concentrated wine with powerful black fruit flavors, kept lively with an infusion of citrus, beautifully integrated tannins make the wine seamless, with a smooth, focused, but long-lasting finish.

Big, expressive nose with chocolate and roasted coffee bean aromas, tar and coal, also dry austere fruit aromas that create a closed character to the nose; in the mouth the wine is more closed than not, with austere dry red fruits; this wine seems very closed down, reluctant to offer up much in the way of flavors; good structure though and I suspect that we hit this wine in a dumb stage, and that it will reveal much more in the next few years; the underlying structure is quite impressive.

Deep nose with layers of sweetness and earth, blackberries, jammy, smoke, elegant nose with a complex of aromas that are, as expected, still somewhat subdued and reticent; full in the mouth, lots of fruit in the front of the mouth, but complex and deep, although veiled now; integrated tannins for a wine this young, although there are plenty there; coal tar and black fruits; earth; a real Pauillac in every respect and should evolve beautifully in the next few years as the wine has real balance
