88-90 Barrel sample. For a Pauillac, this is easily fruity, flavored with attractive red fruits. The texture is soft, smooth, the tannins easy, not too firm. An attractive fresh aftertaste.

One of the properties owned by insurance giant AXA, and under the same management as Château Pichon Longueville, this estate is making some impressive wines. The 2004 is modern, concentrated, polished, and dominated by intense, juicy fruits and new wood.

This is classic Pauillac, packed with black currant fruits and dark tannins. The lighter vintage has given the wine freshness and elegance, but there is still solidity and denseness. One of the properties owned by the AXA insurance group, this estate has taken its place among the top crus bourgeois.

A rounded wine, surprisingly soft for a Pauillac. The tannins are ripe, with chocolate and sweet black currant fruit flavors along with spice and some toast.

A finely structured wine, one of the best from Pibran. Great black fruits balance the elegance, with berries, mouth-watering freshness and a highly, delicious aromatic aftertaste. This property is one to watch.

90-92 Barrel sample. The greatest juicy fruit, some wood character, with great freshness and lots of blackcurrant character. Great ripe fruits.

92-94 Great black currant flavors, with lovely fresh acidity, a lot of spice from new wood. There is lovely acidity here as well, a stylish wine.
