With crisp fruit, fresh acidity and tannins that are just on the hard side, this is a tight wine, but well packed with black currant fruits.

This wine should not have been as good as it turned out to be; there was some bottle variation, with the lesser bottles pretty flat and tasteless, but the better bottle showed well, opening with a good nose of perfumed fruit, licorice, cedar, tar, although a bit light; sweet and ripe fruit in the mouth with solid cherry and plum flavors; touch of licorice and lots of earth; simple, but then this is not a highly-ranked property; drying out that end with dry chalky tannins intruding into the flavors; still a surprisingly good wine.
