On the light side, this is an attractive wine, but missing the intensity of some other wines from Saint-Julien. It’s balanced, fresh and elegant.

This is a very new-wood dominated wine, that will appeal to lovers of California Cabernet. Blackcurrant jelly fruits are there as well, very modern, very polished. It is a fine wine, but maybe not Bordeaux.

Dense and solid, relying on rich tannins to give it structure and richness. The flavor is deep and concentrated, with dark black fruits piling in under the dry tannins. A wine that will develop slowly.

90-92 This is one of the best balanced wines from Saint-Julien, which may mean its future is medium-term. It has great fruit, generous tannins and a touch of spice.

For a young wine, this is remarkably balanced. With fine but not powerful tannins and sweet black fruit flavors, it is polished, with vanilla accents and good acidity. It is already well integrated and should develop relatively quickly. Imported by Diageo Chateau & Estates.

91-93 A big, spicy wine that shows pedigree and potential. The fruit is solid and black and sweet, with less acidity to taste than many wines of this year.

There is a great link here between the tannins, delicious red berry fruits and blackcurrants and the almost architectural structure. The wine certainly has fine fruit, a great balance, very complete, finishing gently, ripe and soft.

With its big fruit, and hearty tannins, this is a powerful, ripe wine, having great sweet blackberry flavors, a touch of smoke and a black fruit core. Round and opulent, this is a generous wine already.

92-94 A luxurious wine, acidity and sweet plum fruits rolling together into a fine, beautiful structure. It has toughness, to be sure, while it is the glamorous surface that is immediately attractive.
