Funky and earthen nose at first, then opening to reveal a complex of saddle leather and sweet fruit, eucalyptus, mocha, cassis, although I thought that I detected a hint of VA on the nose; sweet and ripe in the mouth, loaded with black and red fruits; smooth and silky textured now; peppery; the wine did begin to fade in the glass, and dry scratchy tannins began to crawl to the surface with more time; still elegant though, but I would, in the future, drink this quickly.
