This wine shows a lot of Bourbon-barrel oak flavor, underscoring fruit that has plenty of apple and melon intensity, enlightened with pleasing herbal accents.

Bright, spicy fruit is handsomely underscored with sweet new oak. This is flat-out classy winemaking, with food-friendly acids and the wine’s citrus/melon fruit playing well against the toasty oak.

Always a favorite and highly allocated, this nicely aged wine showcases beautifully ripe, not overripe, Yakima Valley fruit. Sweet scents of Bing cherry, cocoa and spice open softly into a generous but elegant palate, balanced and smooth.

Tart and sharp, with a pleasing tang and snap. The complex, clean and crisp flavors layer fig, citrus rind and clove with high notes of candied orange and citrus blossom. Great varietal character, cool-climate acidity; this is very sophisticated winemaking with spot-on flavors.

This little-sung (outside of Washington) winery makes an eagerly-awaited rosé of cabernet franc each spring, but here is the real deal. One hundred percent varietal, it puts the lie to the notion that cabernet franc must be tannic and tough. Here it is fragrant, firm and tart, with spicy apple, plum, date, fig and even golden raisin flavors. Interested, complex and beautifully crafted, without obvious oak and just 13 percent alcohol.
