This Riserva Brunello shows sharp, brambly characteristics of forest berry and white cherry. Although the nose is prickly and awkward, the wine wins points in the mouth thanks to its softness and plushness.

This is an elegant Brunello with pretty aromas of wild berries, cassis and white cherry enhanced by determined notes of spice and smoke. On the nose the wine is vertical and intense but like many expression from the 2005 vintage, the mouthfeel is toned down in dimension.

Genuine, clean and simple, this bright Rosso di Montalcino offers aromas of cedar wood and cherry cola over loads of wild berry fruit. There’s a raw, simple quality to the wine and fresh fruit abounds.

This is a beautiful red blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from the Montalcino subzone of Sant’Antimo (where super Tuscan wines are made) with light mineral dustings that show delicately over a solid core of black fruit and exotic spice. The mouthfeel is bright and polished.

Pretty raspberry and cream aromas convey richness, and it is indeed an easy drinker with warmth and body to it. Core flavors of strawberry, cherry cough drop, and brown sugar are sweet and likable, but ultimately the wine doesn’t have that last kick to push it to another level.

This wine boasts a very nice balance of enticing aromas such as cola, mint tea, basil leaf, chocolate and dried tobacco. Yet there was enough fruit and berry flavors to ensure a long cellar life. Plump and velvety in the mouth, with mouth cleansing freshness on the finish. A Marc de Grazia selection, various U.S. importers.

An unexpected touch of caramel butterscotch or candied fruit could indicate very mild oxidation although the jury is still out. Otherwise, the wine does a good job of presenting austere aromas of old spice, worn leather and dried fruit.
