Lovely nose of candied fruit, cherries and berries predominate, sweet and spicy aromas mixed with the lovely scent of dried leaves and distant wood smoke; sweet and perfumed in the mouth with the lovely softness of pinot, quite sweet and ripe with loads of fruit, but also with an emergent core of sharp hard tannins that turn somewhat bitter in the mouth; good finish, but best at the initial taste.
