More specifically, the 2008 Cline Cashmere. They list this as a Syrah, Grenache, Mouvedre blend, and I was looking forward to this as I the Cashmere's of previous years have always been good quality and left me plenty satisfied. The 08, however is a little too much. Upon opening and tasting it, the color is an opaque purple, darker than what I recall from previous years, and the nose is intensely sweet and sugary. Tasting it and the texture is nice and smooth going down, not a lot of rough edges but that sweetness is just too overpowering. I have loved the Cashmeres of previous years and I think maybe this needs to be stored a little more but if the sweet jammy wines are your taste, give this a try but the cherry and raspberry flavors were a little too in-your-face for my tastes.

Great for the price. Very good alone and with barbeque, steak, red sauce.

Very pleasant and well crafted effort at CdP type blend and taste. Should have left it decanted longer than the few minutes before pouring as it was still improving when the two of us finished the bottle. Enjoyed it a lot, but not sure if I would rebuy at this price. 88 Pts
