Sweet and ripe nose, lots of fruit here and nicely done too, blackberry and black cherry jam, earthen with a nice sense of terroir; sweet and rich in the mouth; there are layers of ripe fruit here that bring up images of blackberry compote; there is a bit of diluteness in the mid-mouth that is disappointing given the strong initial flavors of the wine; much of the flavor of this wine turns out to be on the surface, and the depth of a more sophisticated wine is missing here; still a decent quaff for what it is.
