Very woody nose with strong mushroom overtones, metallic with aluminum notes, smoky, damp earth, but lacks fruit; sweet right in the front of the mouth with reserved, spicy tones; smooth, but then becoming sour and surprisingly thin and attenuated; lots of citrus fruit and woody dry flavors; I would say that this is somewhat disappointing; light finish, some nice textures here, but it is missing a core. (14.5/20) Another bottle later was much better; sophisticated nose, dried cherries, dried currants, sweet herbs, dry earth aromas; light and elegant in the mouth, lots of sour cherry flavors, herbs, smooth and silky; tobacco and leather; dry tannins; focused finish.
