appearance: above-average intensity with a standard purple color. nose: a bit unclean on the nose, with good intensity and aromas of black cherry, butter, black pepper, ginger, and a petrol-type of smell. palate: off-dry with low acidity and tannins, with flavors of black cherry, strawberry, blackberry, and tobacco. the length is not very good. overall: this wine is not bad considering the price at $7.99. it has decent fruit and would appeal to the new-world types. it's over-oaked, and the butter flavor isn't so great. still, it's serviceable, and i give it an 85.

Take a good ‘01 Cab, thin it down, and that’s what you get with this affordably drinkable wine. It’s dry and balanced, with pleasant berry flavors.

Tons of bottles of this easy, polished Syrah will wash down huge quantities of burgers, hot dogs and pizzas, and will make millions of people happy for the wine's cherry, cocoa and spice flavors and gentle tannins.

Smells pleasant, with plum, blackberry and oak notes, but turns rather thin and tannic in the mouth. Very dry, with some fruit and herb flavors.

Drinks rustic in texture and sharp, with citrus and peach flavors and an edge of oak. If you need something quick to serve at your next block party, it’s a good candidate.

I want to like this wine, and it’s okay for simple drinking, but it’s really kind of watery. Still, if you’re not fussy, it’s dry, tart and clean.

I’m giving this wine a qualified recommendation because the fruit is so pretty. It’s all black cherries. Yes, it’s rustic, but you can’t beat the price.

Simple and fruity, with peach and apple flavors and a touch of oak. Basically dry, but the finish is very ripe and honeyed. Acids are okay, making this a nice, inexpensive sipper.
