This starts out on the right foot, hitting you with a whiff of toasted nuts and crème caramel. The maturity of the blend seems well calculated; there’s a very nice mix of crisp green fruit, spicy clove, and more mature, slightly oxidized, nutty flavors. This is not a big wine, but it fills the palate evenly and persists with a core of pleasing, lightly salty, somewhat oily roasted almond.
