Smooth, creamy wine, its fruit layered with toast and piquant spices. The yellow fruit flavors are contrasted with acidity from a pink grapefruit freshness. It should be aged for another year.

A rounded wine, full in the mouth, packed with ripe fruits, spice, wood and acidity. It’s a wine for aging, with its solid, compact tannins stretching their muscles under the fruit. Give it least five years.

A very light-colored wine, almost rosé, typical of the Bastardo grape, which has almost disappeared in the Douro. In that sense, this is a curiosity and the farmyard taste says much of why it is rarely found.

An attractive lime- and pear-flavored wine, with bright acidity to go with its ripe fruits and hints of almonds. Lively wine, for food rather than as an apéritif.

A big wine in every sense, from its bold black fruits and dark chocolate flavors to its layer upon layer of tannin, acidity, wood and then more fruit. Obviously for aging, this needs at least 2–3 years.

Herbal aromas lead to a fresh, green and white fruit wine that sips easily with a definite herbaceous character. The wood aging adds a good nutmeg character, but it is the freshness that makes this wine so delicious. Age for another year.

Well balanced wine, the entry level of the Conceito range. It has lively acidity and red cherry and strawberry fruits packed with underlying tannins. It is a fresh wine, showing the lighter side of the Douro, while retaining great minerality.

Initially, this is a fruit-dominated wine, with a cherries-in-syrup flavor. Only gradually do the tannins and the stalky but rich texture come in to suggest aging potential. The wine finishes with the fresh edge typical of 2007.

The Bastardo grape is rare in the Douro, but it can produce a fresh style of red, fruity with red cherry juice and bright with cranberry acidity. For drinking young.

Firm, dark and dry, this is a wine with great depth of flavor, concentrating tannins over the bold black fruits and new wood flavors. It certainly could be aged, but can also be drunk now for its spicy richness and solid texture.
