Rich, earthy and ready to drink. Unmistakably Bordeaux. The St. Julien comes flying at you - and I like it like that. Earth, smoke and meat, balanced with dark fruits and mellow tannins. Friend brought it to the restaurant and we both wanted to buy some. Even tho the best we could do was way higher than the average price paid by the users here, we both felt the taste was worth extra bucks. Unfortunately, there is a lot of $30 wine that doesn't taste nearly this good. To me, this makes a great statement for second wines of great growths in top vintage years. Might grab some more '05's
