Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This lovely Sauvignon Blanc was cold fermented, then aged on the lees in neutral oak barrels. That was the perfect way to treat the grapes, which were grown in St. Helena. The wine shows rich flavors of limes, green melons and lemongrass, with a softly creamy texture and a long, spicy, honey-rich finish.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Sweet in blackberry, currant and chocolate flavors, this Cab shows complex Napa tannins and is balanced with adequate acidity. It’s a bit direct, but may develop bottle complexities over the next few years.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
At the age of nearly four years, this Cabernet remains a bit ungainly. Although it has some very pretty, polished mountain tannins, it tastes somewhat sweet and extracted in jammy blackberries and black cherries, with a mocha and vanilla richness reminiscent of a Starbucks drink. Could develop with time.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
From the get-go this wine has disturbing notes. The aroma is raw, and once in the mouth, the wine turns astringently tannic and harsh. Despite a core of blackberry fruit, it's not likely to improve.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Although the official alcohol reading is 14.5%, this wine has pronounced flavors of raisins and dessicated berries that mar it. There’s a hot, harsh feeling throughout.
