I've seen reviews of this wine describe it as "bold" and "full-bodied", and as having pleasant fruit flavors. The bottle itself boasts that this vintage has won a Bronze Medal, and claims "Élevé en fûts de chêne", that this wine was aged in oak. When I tasted this wine, I found it neither bold nor full-bodied. There were no fruity flavors, and frankly, very few flavors at all. It tastes mostly of fresh water, supplemented by some sour grape juice and notes of cheap vodka. The only evidence that it was, in fact, aged in oak is a pale golden color that doesn't quite match how watery this wine tastes. I'll give this wine the slight benefit of the doubt that perhaps I got a bad batch or it was stored improperly -- maybe it has very subtle flavors that were lost by improper handling? I've never ordered from this particular dealer before, so I don't know how much they may have abused their wines. If I find this wine at a store I trust, I may give it another taste, for the sake of fairness, but for now, I'll have to find a recipe to throw this in; maybe it will develop some flavor when it's reduced.
