Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Very dry and tannic, with mouthwatering acidity. If the fruit were more concentrated, it would be a fine Syrah with good structure, but it’s too thin in flavor.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
You’d think this was a modest little Pinot Noir, it’s so pale in color and light-bodied and silky, with slight cherry flavors. But no, it’s a southern Rhône-style Grenache. It’s a little baked in the finish.

Pale in color and light in body, this blush also is light in flavor. It shows modest citrus fruit, with a strong edge of feline essence, and finishes dry and crisply acidic.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Solid Syrah, round, smooth and fruity, with a nice bite of tannins and acids for balance. The blackberries, cassis, coffee, carob, cola, tobacco and peppery spice flavors finish impressively long.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Light in color and body, this Rhône-style red is hot and bitter, with some unripe, green flavors alongside the cherries. Don’t mistake this for Domaine de la Terre Rouge, which is an entirely different winery.

This is a white Rhône-style blend. It tastes unripe and green, with modest pineapple and vanilla flavors that finish harsh and peppery.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
The words “country style” apply perfectly to this Rhône blend based on Mourvèdre. It’s soft and simple and dry, with pleasant cherry, blackberry and Kahlua flavors.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Light in color and in body, like a Pinot Noir, this Mourvèdre has forward, rich flavors of cherries and orange zest, accented with sweet, toasty oak. It’s simple and rather sweet, like melted pie filling.

Simple, acidic and slightly sweet, with tangerine, lime, papaya, honeysuckle, vanilla and spice flavors. Could use more dryness. A blend of Roussanne, Marsanne, Viognier and others.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Tastes extremely fruity, with peaches, apricots, lemonade, pineapple juice and all kinds of other stone fruit and spice flavors. This wine could use more acidity, though, as it’s kind of flabby.
