Fruit on the nose is very ripe, with nutty, coconutty, barbecue notes alongside. The same characters—nut, carob, ripe cherry—carry over on the palate. The wine’s wooly texture is nice, finishing smooth and with a bite of tangy oak. Imported by Klassen Wines.

For a Shiraz from a warmer growing region, this shows admirable nuance and spice, blending hints of cracked pepper with raspberry and blackberry fruit. It’s perfumed on the nose, boasts a slightly creamy texture in the mouth and finishes long—it’s everything you could ask for, at a realistic price.

Cherry, berry and stone fruit aromas and flavors mark this fruity, not particularly complex quaff that would do well washing down barbecue and the like. Ultrasoft, with a very supple finish. Drink now.
