Very rich and layered, a complex young Pinot Noir that will benefit from cellaring. It’s silky, dry and fantastically fruity, with red cherry pie, red currant, licorice, cola, bacon, vanilla and sandalwood flavors that finish in a swirl of dusty spices. Wonderful now, with an edge of tannins, and should develop bottle complexity through 2013. From Benziger.

There’s a tannic toughness to this wine that suggests cellaring, which should be no problem because it’s so rich. Offers masses of cherries, currants, cola, pomegranates, bacon, licorice and smoky sandalwood that finish dry and spicy. Great job from Benziger, and should slowly develop complexity through 2013.
