Limpid and refined, defining the elegance and finesse you expect from good Champagne. It’s a bit on the sweet side, with a hefty dosage softening the high acidity and rounding off the peach and citrus flavors. Feels almost weightless, all the way through the young, yeasty finish.

A thrilling wine that picks up bottle bouquet of baked bread, smoke, and roasted meringue, in addition to underlying citrus. Incredibly rich and fine, yet powerful, with compex flavors and a light, refined elegance on the palate. A touch of sweetness rounds and softens.

Pale, with just the slightest color of copper, but you can smell the raspberries peering through the yeast and white chocolate in this young wine. It’s fine and crisp, with an elegant lightness, but with upfront tannins and acids that cry out for cellaring. Best after 2006.

A firm, rich, fruity wine, but with the typical poised elegance for which the Deutz Champagnes have always been renowned. There are hints of tropical fruits, but these are balanced by delicious, refreshing acidity.

Though it has mature, slightly toasty aromas, this wine also has great flavors of grapefruit, some lemon peel and a vibrant white fruit character. It is dry, with the clean, fresh acidity going right through to the finish. Imported by Maisons Marques & Domaines USA.

Herbal notes, yeast and vanilla mark the nose. On the palate the flavors are more citrus and apple, with even a complex Chablis-like slatey component. Medium mouthfeel and good balance, but finishes a little short and bitter, and faded very quickly in the glass.

This has a seductive pink salmon color, and the delicious strawberry and red fruit flavors continue the theme. It is soft, very attractive, doing all the right things for an aperitif style of rosé, showing finesse and elegance more than power.

This frothy, exuberantly fresh young wine could have been held another few years prior to release. Right now, it's delicious but more about potential, like a beautuful yearling at the Keenland auctions. The flavors of toast, apples and limes stand out brightly, needing some time to mellow into a harmonious glow. Try around 2010.
