Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
The Caladoc is a curious cross between Grenache and Malbec, developed in the Rhône to lessen the likelihood of uneven flowering in the Grenache. The wine has sweet, jelly-like aromas. The palate is soft, juicy with sweet acidity, soft, light tannins and an almost piercing fruitiness. —R.V.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
The Caladoc grape is quite a rarity. A cross between Grenache and Malbec, it was developed for aroma and color. As a stand alone, it makes a spicy style of wine, with high tannin content, but also some juicy red fruits. It’s intriguing, but in the end seems to lack a lot of depth. Imported by Grape Expectations (CA).

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A blend of Caradoc (a cross of Malbec and Grenache) and Tinto Roriz, this is a bold ripe wine that pushes its vivid berry fruits right up front along with some dark tannins. Black cherries and figs show well at the end, along with wood spice and acidity.

Perfumed, soft, easy wine, showing the juicy, fresh side of the two grapes. The fruits are more red than black, open and ripe, but still with youthful exuberance and great freshness.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
The wine region of Lisboa (Lisbon) is the changed name for Estremadura’s regional wines, although some confusion remains. This red in the Coreto range has some attractive berry fruits along with a soft, velvet structure that makes it an easy drink. Screwcap.
