There’s a very attractive fullness and roundness to this wine that wins over your senses the moment you lift the glass to your nose. A blockbuster red from a beautiful Chianti Classico estate that drinks like a slab of succulent charred steak. Billboard-sized aromas of cherry and espresso bean still manage to be overwhelmed by notes of burnt wood. A little bit flat on the bouquet, with prune, graham cracker and tobacco aromas. Flavors of plum and black cherry are fine, but there’s more acid and tannin than flesh. Solid but not spectacular; there’s a bit too much displaced tannin to rate at the next level up.

Exotic, luxurious and lush; super ripe and intense, but cuddly and lush, with a splendid texture. Aromas of smoked meats, cinnamon and coffee are more savory than sweet. Tastes generous, with black fruit floating on ripe tannins. Finishes very long.
