An impressive Chard and an impressive value, the Begude is light, with an elegant, mineral-citrus-soy palate. Out of the bottle, it shows clean, bright lemon-citrus flavors on the nose; after a few minutes in the glass, the bouquet takes on peach, earth and soy notes. In the mouth and on the finish, it manages to be at once smooth and minerally textured. Buy a case now. Best Buy.

This Chardonnay shows a beautiful minerality supported by rich and pronounced flavors of cantaloupe, wood-grilled peaches and smokey roasted almonds. It’s medium weight and lush in the mouth, with a long evolving finish. Drink while it’s still got some chill to it, as the alcohol is a bit too pronounced after warming too much.

Crisp acidity marks this mouthwatering white. Intense aromas of lemon and grass make for an intriguing nose. The palate is a bit dull, although the acidity gives the minerally finish a bit of staying power and makes it a good foil for fresh seafood.

Pale salmon in color, this Limoux rosé is made from Pinot Noir and has every bit the delicacy and nuance of the variety. Hints of cherry, raspberry, red apple and underripe nectarine are accented on the palate by pineapple core acidity. Light in weight with a satin-like texture and a remarkably crisp finish.
