A little weedy, despite lots of flashy oak. The pineapples and peaches have notes of dried dill and thyme, and the finish is dry and crisp. Nice with broiled halibut in a thyme-butter sauce.

With no oak influences at all, this Chard is on the acidic side, with bright, clean flavors of green grapes, yellow apricots and fresh pineapples. It’s dry, but rich in fruity essence.

Just delicious, a fascinating counterpoint to the winery’s ’01 Brut Chardonnay, with which it was coreleased. Shows a beautiful Pinotesque weight, with a cherried edge to the lime and yeast flavors. With a grand cru texture, this is really one of the best Chandon bubblies of recent memory.

Beautiful young bubbly, light and elegant, with Chardonnay flavors of peaches and limes, enriched with leesy dough and smoky spice. The texture is ultrarefined, with a very fine mousse. This is one of the best, most complex Chandon bruts in a long time.

Very pretty aromas of raspberry sorbet, vanilla, dough and roasted hazelnuts. Very fine mousse; rich and creamy. The raspberry flavors are delicate, and the wine has a lightness and elegance that are first class. Mostly Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier with trace amounts of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. Best Buy.

Lots of oak has drenched this wine, and it’s good oak, too, filled with vanilla, smoky custard and meringue aromas and flavors. The fruit? It’s on the citrusy side, although you’ll find a pretty aftertaste of white peach.

Has pretty bread-dough, lees, citrus, raspberry and vanilla aromas. Tastes creamy and rich. Rather full-bodied Pinot Noir (68%) fruit dominates. Good mousse, clean, and finishes a little sweet. Best Buy.

Brings the quality factor up a notch from the regular brut, with a smoother mouthfeel, riper flavors, and a touch more Pinot Noir, which adds to the impression of size. This is a dry wine, young and clean, with a tart, yeasty finish.

This mostly Pinot Noir, which has a gold-pink color, is indeed extra dry. The quality of the fruit is not dampened by the extra sweetness, rather, it’s rich and zesty, with a hint of raspberry and pepper. Good acids, rich bubbles and if it’s a little rough, it cleanses the palate and prepares it for food.

A full-bodied version of Chardon’s Brut Classic, except that the color is darker and there are slight hints of strawberries. It’s very dry, with slightly rough bubbles and a clean, yeasty finish
