Starts off with slightly high-toned, red-fruit aromas--and the flavors stay true to that throughout, leaning heavily on cherries with some spice notes for complexity. It's smooth and not overly rich; nicely balanced in an elegant style; fresh and not too tannic. Drink now-2012.

Alain and Baptiste Grangeon make this wine from a small, 3.7-acre plot of old vines. Aged in wood for 2–3 years, it shows definite vanilla characters, with intense, ripe black flavors, great concentration and richness and flavors of cassis and spice. There is a delicious juicy aftertaste to this impressive wine. Imported by World Shippers & Importers Co.

Cristia’s style typically features dynamic cherry fruit; the 2006’s aromas include an almost floral element as well, plus hints of almond paste. It’s a very lush and red-fruited wine, somewhere between creamy and velvety in texture, with just a touch of astringency on the finish. Drink now–2018.

This is the best Cristia since Baptiste Grangeon took over the estate in 1999. It has great tannic structure, a hint of wood and lovely, juicy red fruit flavors. It will develop relatively quickly, over 5 years. Imported by World Shippers & Importers Co.

This old vine cuvée draws upon 80-year-old Grenache, vinifed in cement and then aged in used barriques. The result is a wine marked by touches of coffee, chocolate and vanilla but dominated by plush layers of cherries and spice. Gentle tannins linger on the finish, but this is delicious now. Drink through 2016.
