Good cherry fruit flavors, with a touch of juicy banana and plenty of ripeness. There is definite freshness to this wine, shown best in its crisp acidity.

Aged in wood from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, this rich wine has sweetness, just enough tannins and wood to give structure, and a deep red cherry fruitiness.

Dominique Morel’s Morgon is something of a disappointment. Sure, it is fresh, soft, juicy. With its banana aromas and ripe black cherries, it has all the forward fruit you could want, but there is only a hint of texture or structure from this normally long-lived Beaujolais cru.
