With this luxury cuvée’s lofty price tag, smart consumers will purchase the 90-point regular bottling from 2001 instead (reviewed March 2004, and recently retasted with an identical 90-point rating). That said, this is a very good wine. It’s round, supple and nicely balanced, with overtones of chocolate and leather to the dried-fruit and spice flavors. Cocoa lingers on the finish.
