Interesting licorice note on the nose. Very crisp with tropical fruit notes. Paired with smoked trout at District.

This luxury cuvée is a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre, aged partially in barriques for up to two years. The wood has been nicely integrated into the bold cherry flavors, but the finish is sternly tannic. Needs 2–3 years.

This has a remarkably herbal, garrigue-laced bouquet and a ton of space. It seems less fruity than many other Gigondas, instead relying on peppery spice and sour cherry flavors. It’s a less ripe style but the complexity is really something. Drink 2008–2014.
