This wine comes from a southfacing hillside vineyard not far from Pomerol. An unusual blend for Bordeaux, with 80% Merlot and 20% Malbec, it is fresh and perfumed, with firm tannins and black-currant flavors. Although it comes from the poorly rated 1999 vintage, it has good, ripe fruit. Like so many Bordeaux, this is a food wine, great with steaks.
