It’s hard not to be intrigued by the name of this wine, which derives from the hot, fiery soil of the 59 acre vineyard near Draguignan in the mountains north of the tourist-infested French Riviera. This wine, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Grenache, gives an appropriately hot, spicy character, packed with sweet fruit, herbal flavors and a touch of wood. Great with hearty meat dishes or hard cheeses.
