At first, the nose was tight and reticent to give up any aromas, and had a strange sweet, musty almost buttery kind of nose, but then it opened up to reveal a more seductive and aromatic nose that is also very powerful and intense; big concentration in this wine, intense flavors, lots of fruit, mostly black cherries, but also lots of citrus and some focused tannins; this is a heavy wine with an almost ponderous footstep, but it has charm and elegance, great spiciness, and a long finish.
