The 2006 Pégau is built along almost Burgundian lines: It’s not a rich, beefy blockbuster, but instead offers very framboise-like aromas and red-fruited flavors that are at once crisp, spicy and silky. Drink it over the next 7–10 years.

Omigod! Decanted over five hours before serving with Osso Buco. This was bright red and was translucent enough that it looked like it couldn't possibly have all the flavor and extraction it showed. Cherries and other red and dark fruits. Powerful and complex while being soft at the same time. Tannins, fruit, acid, fragrance, all in balance, leaving a long, lovely finish. Surpassed the 2001 Mordoree that followed. This is a wine that is more than very good. It's Fabulous!

This is not a wine to order at a restaurant unless you call ahead and have it decanted at least 3 hours before your arrival. At 5 hours it is still opening up to show more flavors and complexity while softening and becoming much more approachable and tasting nothing like the just-opened bottle. It shows luscious, expansive dark fruit, licorice, tar, spices, leather and cedar. The nose becomes huge and the finish goes on and on. Glad I've got more. 95-96 points.
