Spices and red fruits dominate the aromas of this powerful tannic wine, from a small estate right at the southern end of the Côte Rôtie. There are heady perfumes and ripe fruit, but at this stage the wood dominates, and it could be at least five years before the fruit is able to come through.

Attractive and seductive, with floral berry aromas mixing with notes of sour plum, light oak, sous bois and spice. The palate is fairly full and creamy, and overall this is a really nice, functional, solid wine just enough heft, toast, butter to qualify as "modern." Made with 5% Viognier.
