This wine is produced from 123-year old vines; deep nose, ripe and rich with aromatic black fruit aromas, plums and cherries predominate in the nose, with hints of minerals and licorice; sweet and dense with ripe plum and cherry flavors at the front of the mouth; the wine loses some intensity in the mouth, and while not dilute is a bit diffuse; it has good tannins and a nicely balanced acidic structure; this is quite young now, and I suspect that it needs some more time to meld; solid finish, good with rich foods; not complex but certainly a quality product.
