Soft, elegant nose, lilacs, red clover, sweet fruit, mostly black cherries; first taste is wonderful, loaded with sweet cherry fruit flavors, but then the wine shifts becoming defined by dry, crunchy tannins that leave a strong bitter aftertaste; the wine regains some balance at the finish, but there are still too many tannins to achieve a proper balance.
