At 10 years of age, this wine features plenty of spice and vanilla. The fruit is ripe and supple, but slightly obscured by wood, and some wood tannins continue to dominate the finish.

Deep and dark, this is a top vintage for La Ferme Romaine. The tannins are plentiful but creamy in texture, while the rich flavors approximate chocolate and licorice. Drink now-2015, possibly longer.

Like many '03s, this looked better young. Now the heat of the year is showing in the wine's loose structure, roasted notes and dry tannins. It still has plenty of anise and other spice notes alongside a modicum of plummy fruit, but drink up.

Open for business, the 2004 La Ferme Romaine can be drunk now or held another few years. Wood spice accents fresh red cherries, while the tannins are on the delicate side.

This domaine’s luxury cuvée shines in 2003, offering a lovely bouquet that balances spice, leather and dried fruits. Shows the plus side of the 2003 vintage in its great concentration, yet it doesn’t seem overdone at all. Plum, black cherry and spice: this wine has it all. Drink now–2015. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.

Floral and red-fruited, this is a gentler, more elegant year of La Ferme Romaine. It’s creamy in texture, with supple tannins, and should be consumed now–2015. Long and fresh on the finish.

Ready to drink when tasted at the end of 2008, this is a supple, pretty vision of Lirac, with black-cherry flavors marked by a smoky, bacony edge. Now-2012.

Tavel is famous for its rosés, and wines like this are the reason. First, there's the beautiful red rose color. Then the complex, inviting bouquet of cherries, peaches and herbs. Stone fruit flavors are bolstered on the finish by refreshingly cool herb and mineral shadings. A complete package.

Slightly floral in character, with bright red cherry fruit and very fresh acids. Tannins are firm but not that concentrated, making this drinkable 2010–2015.

This medium-bodied, cheerful blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah displays likeable peppery notes accenting bright cherry fruit. It’s dangerously easy to drink. Best now and over the next year or so.
